I loved this fruit while serving my mission in Ecuador. It is called achotillo and is very similar to lychee fruit. I haven't seen it since then until Saturday when I was perusing at Trader Joe's and came across this:
It's called Rambutan in English. It was fun but definitely not as yummy as the fresh flesh. Oh the things you'll find at Trader Joe's!

I like rambutans! Britton and I LOVE lychees...we even found some pretty good ones here in London. What is Trader Joe's?
